#scotlandhour is a monthly tourism and travel Twitter chat all about Scotland and is held on the last Wednesday of the month from 9pm to 10pm GMT. And if you haven’t joined in before now then now is as good a time as any to get involved because the team behind it have put together a great selection of themes for 2014!
#scotlandhour was started back in August 2011 by a small group of tourism and travel enthusiasts from the central belt and has grown from strength to strength ever since. Each month there is a different theme and set of questions and to get involved all you need to do is answer each question with A1, A2, A3, etc followed by your answer and the hashtag #scotlandhour, this then allows everyone else following that hashtag to see your tweet. You can then also see everyone else’s tweets by following the hashtag. The hour normally flies past and can be hard to keep up with but the great thing is you can go back to all the tweets later by simply searching for the hashtag again.
The benefits of getting involved with #scotlandhour is that you can not only share your experiences and passion for Scotland with travellers, locals and businesses but you can also learn a lot to which you can then experience yourself or share with fellow travellers and even customers. It is also a great way of earning respect and raising your profile on Twitter.
2014 is going to be a very exciting and busy year for Scotland with Homecoming 2014, The Ryder Cup and the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games to name just a few of the big events taking place.
