Nowadays with so many social media networking sites on the go it is more important than ever to ensure we maintain our real ‘social’ skills by meeting people face to face. And it was for this exact purpose that we held the first Highland Social event back in March 2011, to allow folk who were regularly interacting with each other in the social media world to get together and meet up in person and just over two years on the Highland Social has become a firm fixture in the Highland networking calendar with approximately 60% of attendees at each event being newbies.
Each event tends to held at a different venue in and around the Inverness area apart from the bi-annual main events that are consistently held at the Glen Mhor Hotel in March and September. All Highland Social events feature at least one guest speaker and sponsor and the very popular USP…cupcakes! And just recently the Highland Social also took to the road to bring the networking events and workshops to different areas of the Highlands; the first two events were held in Caithness. Over the next year the #socialroadtrip will be developed to cover more areas.
If you are planning on coming along to one of the Highland Social events and want to try and get the most out of it the check out this blog post on the main Snow website for a number of handy networking tips.
